In New York City we pay very high state taxes, yet what do we have to show for it? Money is consistently taken from NYC and funneled to various upstate communities. In normal times this is fine as NYC is the financial foundation of the state.
However, when we have millions of residents who are affected everyday by horrible MTA service due to 100 year old signaling systems, dirty subway stations, train cars from the 1970s, and a rapidly aging LaGuardia airport we deserve better. Our tax payer dollars need to stay in NYC so we can modernize our city.
These infrastructure projects benefits workers, manufacturers, and residents providing us with a better way of life while stimulating business and employing union workers.
We must keep our money where we need it most.
